Deeley aids St John Ambulance move
St. John Ambulance has a new home in Nuneaton after 85 years in the town centre.
The charity is set to move into a unit in The Courtyard at Eliot Business Park in Nuneaton where it can service a need for increased training programmes.
In addition to the new premises, it will also be offering more courses to commerce and industry for health and safety.
Richard Moore, Commissioner Operations, said: “We have been at Prince’s Avenue since 1923 and even though it’s sad to leave after 85 years we have to so we can house our increasing number of volunteers.
“The building we are moving to is much more modern and has the space which we really need.”
The new base has been created by Coventry-based Deeley Properties and will be home to more than 20 staff and volunteers.
An official opening will take place in June and the Lord Lieutenant of Warwick St. John Ambulance, Martin Dunne will be the guest of honour.
The increased space will mean that more cycle responder units will be available to help at local events.
Richard added: “We cover big events like Nuneaton Football Club matches and the carnival and in those instances cars are just too big to get around.
“Also with a bigger office we are hoping to attract new people to become volunteers as we have extended our range of training.”
St John Ambulance provides first-aid training in the workplace and the general public alongside health and safety training.
Deeley Properties has developed Eliot Business Park and Pat Moroney, director of Deeley Properties, said it has attracted a wide range of occupiers.
He said: “The Courtyard is part of the this very popular location, which is home to the Department of Work and Pensions and the Eliot Park Innovation Centre (EPIC) which was specifically designed for small to medium sized technology businesses.
“St John Ambulance provides crucial services to the local community and the combination of excellent transport links and a very modern building is ideal for their requirements.
“The location is so important as many staff from local businesses will visit the centre to train in first aid and health and safety.
“I’m delighted they’ve chosen to invest at Eliot Business Park and hope that it helps serve their needs for the next 85 years!”
